When I first decided to buy a digital multi-track recording system in 1996, I found myself wrestling with big choices before making my final purchase. One of the most difficult was deciding between a modular, tape-based digital 8-track (such as the Alesis ADAT or TASCAM’s DA-88) and a computer-hosted hard-disk recording system (such as Digidesign’s Pro Tools or Steinberg’s Cubase.)

True, but I want to build a personalized, professional desk that will incorporate the best of many features that some of the finest consoles in the world provide. I have been blessed to work on SSL, Neve, Trident, API & Midas desks. They all have particular features that I want to incorporate in my project.
