One of the most difficult was deciding between a modular, tape-based digital 8-track (such as the Alesis ADAT or TASCAM’s DA-88) and a computer-hosted hard-disk recording system (such as Digidesign’s Pro Tools or Steinberg’s Cubase.) For Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement The winners of the 17th annual TEC Awards were announced during AES 2001 at the Marriott Marquis in New York. Awards were given in two categories: Outstanding Creative Achievement and Outstanding Technical Achievement.
