To me the fusion of electronic and acoustic instrumentation can give a greater range of expression and color than either can give separately. I was a pioneer in developing the use of midi with live session players. It was really because of necessity rather than because of invention that I developed ways to make live and electronics work together.

The evolution of audio editing

Very few human creations are made in one piece, all at one time. Maybe if it's something simple like pouring a glass of water, but everything else, from houses to computers to oil paintings are put together slowly, one part at a time. The amazing thing that we humans can do is to somehow hold the as yet to be realized end result in our heads. In fact, this envisioning of the future is exactly what distinguishes us from dogs and cockroaches.

Engineer Bruce A. Miller Becomes a Digital Convert
Longtime analog holdout takes a shine to Universal Audio's UAD-1
When they need top-tier mixing, an unvarnished opinion and a dynamic analog sounds, producers like Marcus Miller turn to Bruce A. Miller, a New Jersey based recording engineer.
